While my sister was here over Christmas, we took another mini trip to the Conecuh National Forest and .....

My sister has a love for long leaf pine trees (native to our area). You hardly know what one looks like unless you have studied it and you know what to look for. I posted a link above but you can also learn more by clicking here.

What has happened to The Farmers Daughter? (Part deux)

(WARNING: Read at your own risk. You may want to take a break in between and drink some water. This is going to be a long post!. Just giving you fair warning.)

~ Continuation of part 1~

In November on Thanksgiving Eve, we were told that twins were going to be born into the family. I honestly couldn't believe it myself but, here is the proof:

It is a complete miracle that my brother (who had the bone marrow transplant) and my sister in law were able to conceive twins. The doctors said that after they had Liam (the oldest) that they would not be able to have anymore kids (because of the kind of chemo my brother received). This just goes to show what GOD is capable of! Not only did He give us one baby but, He is blessing us with 2!!

We (well, they) now have: Liam (4 1/2), Benjamin (2 1/2), Emery Kate (1) and the twins Laila (Baby A) and Elizabeth (Liza) (Baby B) coming in March!

In December, my favorite sister and  my favorite oldest niece came for Christmas and we (and Grandma) took 2 mini trips.

First, lets have Christmas pictures:

The Kirkland Children Offspring were very good last year

We all came back after the Christmas Eve service at my parents church to have supper on the farm

Doing what sisters do and photobombing!

For Christmas, my sister bought everyone a book to read to the grandchildren

Lia got a book (that she later told me she read in 2 days!!!). I can't believe that she did that. I definitely was not reading 400 page books when I was her age. Well, I probably was but, it took me longer than 2 days, I guarantee you!

Let's not leave the grandchildren out. They got a Mom (Amy) approved trampoline. The liner (net) is sewn to the mat so the kids won't fall out and there are no springs attached (which is awesome)!

Mini trip 1 was taken to Henry County's only waterfall. I would tell y'all where this is but, I can't. Not only can't I tell you where it is but, I really can't tell you how to get there because I really can't remember! If you know of the location, please keep it to yourself. Here are the pictures:

I was a tad bit behind so, I decided to snap a picture of them walking

So pretty!

Dad and Lia. That girl will be 14 this year and she is already up to Dad's shoulders. The pediatrician told my sister when she took my niece (her daughter) to her 2 year old check up that by the time she was 18, she'd be 6"4'!!!

GO GO Gadget arms!!!

Well, I'm off to write part 3 (what?!?!?!) of "What has happened to the Farmers Daughter??" I hope that y'all had fun reading! I'll see everyone in the other post!

A Little Bit about the Farmers Daughter

I know that I’ve had this blog for a while and even though I don’t need an introduction, I’d like to tell y’all something about me.

I would like to tell y’all a secret. A secret that if I wouldn’t tell, y’all may never know.

The secret is that I have a part of a chromosome that is missing. It’s called a chromosome deletion.

The deletion I have is so rare that it doesn’t have a name, it just has a number. The number is: 10q26.3 (try googling it if you don’t believe me). That means that the tip of my 10q26 chromosome is missing at 26.3 (I’m only on aware of one person in England that has it). Like I said, you would have never known my secret if I hadn’t of told you because you can’t see it with the naked eye.

My chromosome deletion effects my cognitive and motor skills (which is why I’m not good at sports). OK, I was semi good at volleyball (for a year or two) but, that was because I had a good coach who worked with me.

A baby example that my Mom often gives is: When I was a baby, I got a spanking for coloring on the wall in the den. I learned that I was not allowed to do that but, it didn’t register that I was not supposed to color on the walls in the hall either so, I got another spanking

Math is another example … Don’t get me started on that. I can do basic stuff like adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing but when it comes to the word problems, I start struggling because I don’t understand.

My Mom is always saying “You have to give me some time to figure out a way to explain this so you can understand.” or she’ll say “You just don’t. That’s it!” or “You just do. That’s it!”. Believe me, I’d like to be able to understand things. I think I can but please, don’t give me more information than I can handle. Tell me to do stuff one thing at a time. Be patient with me when it comes to euphemisms and abstract thinking.

I was scared to write this because I thought that people would think less of me but, this is the way God made me and He doesn’t make mistakes. I’m no longer holding back with God’s grace and mercy in my life. I’m no longer holding back on the things that God wants others to see through me.

By "no longer holding back", I mean that if someone comes up to me asking me about it, I'm not going to hid it from them. I'm going to be as honest as I can.

Goodness! I've not written since I got my car???

Man, time flies when you are having fun! Some things that are worth mentioning happened since I last wrote. I think that in June I started working on a "massive" 2,000 piece puzzle that my wonderful boyfriend gave me for Christmas last year:

The above picture was completed by Momma and I within the last 2-3 weeks. Amy really got us going again.

In late July, the Kirkland Family went to the beach:

My niece Lia and nephew Liam

We learned (Via Facebook .... we didn't care. We are just glad that we found out)  that on August 3, my Uncle (who was living in Australia) died in a motorcycle accident. I'm not going to get into it but, it was a hard process getting his body back here for burial. Thankfully, we were able to get his body back here (2 weeks after).

That brings me to today .....

In August, Mom, Lia and I went to the mall for Momma to buy and return a few things and so while she did that, Lia and I walked around the mall. Well, Lia and I saw this kiosk for people to sign up for auditioning for stuff like modeling and extras and stuff like that. Well, I did it for kicks and giggles and told Lia that they would never call me. Well, they called me today and they want me to go to a location and look "cute and casual". I do not want to go by myself (Chris wont want me to either) so, Amy is going with me. :) I was shocked when they called me because I was not expecting them to. So, please say a prayer for me :)

I will try to be more faithful to write in here ........ I'm sure I said that last time though :/

Hey, guys!!

For those who hacve asked when I'm going to write again ... Well, here I go!! I'm going to tell you what I've been doing for the past week!

Last Sunday: Chris came down to visit me. I love it when he comes down here to see me. He's been working so hard with school and work so, he has very little time to come down here and see me but, somehow he manages to come down here and see me :)

Monday: I volunteered at the hospital. One of the volunteers I work with had emergency surgery and I was just walking out the door when my supervisor called me! Oh, I got Liam a Thomas the train track set for Christmas and he has enjoyed it so much. This is the picture of the track that Momma came up with for the current track. I'm getting him more for his birthday but, don't tell him!!! ;)

Tuesday: I helped Momma build the chicken tractors. Here are some pictures:

Wednesday, I went and volunteered again. I do this twice a week. I'm so glad to be going back to volunteering. :) Anyway, back to my week ..... Will helped build the chicken tractor

Thursday, we completed the below chicken tractor. The yellow chicks (meat chicks) are in here. The red and brown chicks (layers) will go in the other chicken tractor.

Friday: The way to a man's heart is through his stomach :) ~ I baked Chris's favorite cookie ... Oatmeal cookies of course. I kept it a surprise (well, I wanted to) but, sadly, I away gave one too many hints :( I'm just not good at keeping a secret :(

Chris came down after work and he took me out on a date for Valentine's day :)

I love this picture of Chris and I. It looks like Chris has earrings!! LOL!!!

We went to El Dorado Steakhouse in Headland. We had to wait to get seated but, we did not mind. Once we got to the booth, we had to wait for them to take our order. Again, we did not mind. It was expected though since it was Valentine's day! He also bought me flowers, a (Pink) Duck Dynasty devotional and a balloon!

Saturday: Chris had free tickets (that his company gives their employees) to a baseball game in Troy and I was able to go up there with him. Northern Kentucky played Troy and Troy won!! Here are a few pictures

It was a good week off FB! It was much needed. I was able to help Momma with stuff. If I was a good manager of my time (I'm trying to change) and could control my FB activity then I probably would not ever get off but, I'm not and so I do. :)
