Hello!

So, I will admit for the past 2 years that I have forgotten about this blog. I can't believe that I last wrote on here in April of 2017. 😮 Life has been crazy to say the least. I hope to write more on here. I'm going to be going through some good changes in my life and I'm wanting to write about each of my new life phases. I will write a blog post about Jason (my boyfriend manfriend) later.

Short Post: Fed Up!

Vent alert: I am so fed up with people telling my Mom stuff and telling her not to tell me. Granted when I was younger, I did go around blabbing too much. They got upset enough to where they started keeping secrets from me and when I did find out, I cried big crocodile tears because my feelings were hurt but, I learned it was my fault and I learned not to blab. Apparently, it has taken awhile for this reputation to wear off.  I mean, HELLO!?!?!?!?!?! I'm a little more grown up now. I'm 31 freakin' years old! Treat me like an adult for crying out loud!! Don't leave me out anymore!! I mean, don't you think it's about time to give me another chance??

While my sister was here over Christmas, we took another mini trip to the Conecuh National Forest and .....

Shouldn't that go without saying?? I guess that common sense is none existent nowadays ... which is sad

My sister has a love for long leaf pine trees (native to our area). You hardly know what one looks like unless you have studied it and you know what to look for. I posted a link above but you can also learn more by clicking here.

What has happened to The Farmers Daughter? (Part deux)

(WARNING: Read at your own risk. You may want to take a break in between and drink some water. This is going to be a long post!. Just giving you fair warning.)

~ Continuation of part 1~

In November on Thanksgiving Eve, we were told that twins were going to be born into the family. I honestly couldn't believe it myself but, here is the proof:

It is a complete miracle that my brother (who had the bone marrow transplant) and my sister in law were able to conceive twins. The doctors said that after they had Liam (the oldest) that they would not be able to have anymore kids (because of the kind of chemo my brother received). This just goes to show what GOD is capable of! Not only did He give us one baby but, He is blessing us with 2!!

We (well, they) now have: Liam (4 1/2), Benjamin (2 1/2), Emery Kate (1) and the twins Laila (Baby A) and Elizabeth (Liza) (Baby B) coming in March!

In December, my favorite sister and  my favorite oldest niece came for Christmas and we (and Grandma) took 2 mini trips.

First, lets have Christmas pictures:

The Kirkland Children Offspring were very good last year

We all came back after the Christmas Eve service at my parents church to have supper on the farm

Doing what sisters do and photobombing!

..... getting a clock

For Christmas, my sister bought everyone a book to read to the grandchildren

Lia got a book (that she later told me she read in 2 days!!!). I can't believe that she did that. I definitely was not reading 400 page books when I was her age. Well, I probably was but, it took me longer than 2 days, I guarantee you!

Daughter looking to see what mother got!

Let's not leave the grandchildren out. They got a Mom (Amy) approved trampoline. The liner (net) is sewn to the mat so the kids won't fall out and there are no springs attached (which is awesome)!

Mini trip 1 was taken to Henry County's only waterfall. I would tell y'all where this is but, I can't. Not only can't I tell you where it is but, I really can't tell you how to get there because I really can't remember! If you know of the location, please keep it to yourself. Here are the pictures:

I was a tad bit behind so, I decided to snap a picture of them walking

So pretty!

Dad and Lia. That girl will be 14 this year and she is already up to Dad's shoulders. The pediatrician told my sister when she took my niece (her daughter) to her 2 year old check up that by the time she was 18, she'd be 6"4'!!!

GO GO Gadget arms!!!

Well, I'm off to write part 3 (what?!?!?!) of "What has happened to the Farmers Daughter??" I hope that y'all had fun reading! I'll see everyone in the other post!

What has happened to The Farmers Daughter? (Part 1)

(WARNING: Read at your own risk. You may want to take a break in between and drink some water. This is going to be a long post!. Just giving you fair warning.)

I'm still here but, I have been so busy working and some exciting things have happened to me (this does not include the never ending search for that ever allusive man friend!).

Lets see .....

Late July, some friends and I went to Cahaba (Cawhaba), Alabama and spent some time around the first permanent State capital from 1820-1825. To learn more, click here.

From left to right: Me, Lille, Mary, Rebekah and Grace Ann

St. Luke's Episcopal Church. We didn't get to go inside (they had it locked up) which means that we have to go again!

Rebekah doing what she does best. Sitting there and looking pretty! :)

Sisters and best friends!

Grace and I just had to recreate some photos that we took 11 years ago ..... we were so little and we had no clue (and still don't) of what life holds!

In August we took a family vacation to the beach. It was so fun! We were able to rent a condo (that we stayed at when my siblings and I were growing up) and we stayed for almost a week! It was so refreshing to go on vacation especially before harvest!

I also bought my very own camera and I've been having fun with it so, expect alot of pictures :D

Liam being pulled on the boogie board

Benjamin just hanging out

Isn't he cute???

I have an amazing zoom on my camera and I was able to take a picture of the pier at pier park all the way from where our condo was

Liam had a blast!

Benjamin is so photogenic

This bird reminds me of the birds on the "Windex" commercials

My very awesome brother! I love that he has moved back home to the farm

"Aunt, Kate! Take my picture!"

Has anyone seen Liam???

Oh, there he is! I lost him for a minute!

Here is Liam with his sister, Emery Kate

Sunset at the beach!

Benjamin relaxin' in the kiddie pool

I don't know what kind of flower this is but, it was growing on the side of the sand dune

"Benjamin, look at the crab!"

The love that Amy has for her kids is very evident in this picture! The smile that Emery Kate has is so precious! I love them both!

"Aunt Kate, look at me! I'm wearing 2 hats!"

"Look at me! I'm a turtle"

Ah, the beach! I want to go back!

We harvested peanuts the last of August through November
